My Health Blog

The first thing people ask is,
"Why do you do it?"
If you manage to answer that
question satisfactorily they may then ask,
"How did you do it?"

AND THAT'S a much longer answer!   For anybody watching from the outside, they wouldn't have been aware that I had started running or my journey from couch25K, parkrun, local events, Haywards Heath Harriers.   But they were aware that I had lost 3 stone in weight.

Once they understood that there was the same questions in respect of being over 50 years old.   I hope that people can follow this blog and take from it the parts that suit them.   For me this is a very positive experience and gives the opportunity just to think about nutrition and training, where I am and what I need to do next.

I am not trying to come across as having a great understanding of everything, but simply what has worked for me, but that doesn't mean it will work for you.   We are all at different genetics, ages, fitness levels and understanding.

Once you start down this road you realise that running, although cheap (you just need a bit of kit and a pair of decent trainers) isn't just about running.   There is nutritien and how you feed your body, essential during runs and cross training, which is any form of exercise that compliments running (essentially working on the muscles that support running).

So please feel free to pick your way through my blog and pick out the bits that appeal to you the most, motivation, a running event and idea on training?   Do feel free to get in touch as you can add comments/email me.   It would be really good to get some positive stories from people on how running has enhanced their lives.
